Water and sewage

Clean water is a necessity for all life and as such it is our most essential amenity. Needless to say, because water forms part of an eternal cycle it is also natural that the water we return to nature be purified.

Öresjö Lake is Borås's most important source of drinking water. More than 80,000 Borås inhabitants get their water from the lake after the Sjöbo purification plant pumps it through the mains. In order to protect your drinking water and to safeguard good water quality for the future, we have set up a water protection zone around the lake. Inside the zone everyone must follow the protection regulations and we should all consider how we can affect water quality positively.

Returned Clean, Naturally Before we return anything borrowed we make sure it´s in good condition. The same applies to water. We take care of wastewater from private individuals and industry at wastewater treatment plants. The treatment process is developed continually in order to meet the requirements demanded of water quality. Knowing that today´s treated wastewater will be tomorrow´s drinking water for our children is what drives our progress. But you also bear a responsibility — your toilet is not a dustbin.

Our operation is certified according to the standards of quality, environment and work environment:  ISO 9001, ISO 14 001 och OHSAS 18001

We strive to minimize our environmental impact, and contribute to a natural cycle.

The rest products from our plants are biogas, district heating and sludge which gets used as fertilizer for agriculture.
