Grand opening of the first biogas plant in Sleman, Indonesia - a project launched by Wasterecovery

The first Biogas Plant is now in use, producing electricity based on fruit waste from the Gemah Ripa fruit market.
After several years of collaboration between the Swedish organization “Waste Recovery in Borås - International Partnership“ which Borås Energi och Miljö (Borås Energy and Environment) is part of, Gadjah Mada University and Sleman goverment, the first Biogas Plant in Sleman will be opened with a official ceremony on February 10th, 2011.

The opening ceremony takes place in presence of the Sultan of Yogyakarta, the Mayor of Sleman Regency and his staff, the Swedish Ambassador Ms Polano, the Swedish International Development representatives in Indonesia, the principal of Gadjah Mada University and his staff, and Gema Ripa Fruit Market.

The Swedish Organization “Waste Recovery in Boras - International Partnership with representatives from the City of Borås, University of Borås, SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden and Borås Energy and Environment will be present at the opening ceremony.
